birthday girl...

on Tuesday, June 15, 2010

Little Lucy would like to wish all her remarkable brothers and sisters a very happy and profitable one years birthday!

(message from Lucy) I was doing my walking around the house game where my tail is supposed to look like I am not having fun. Yeah, right... So we took pictures after...

See, sometimes I can be serious, serious as in, "hey, when we play this game I am supposed to get treats! I am getting cheated!" Anyway, to all my charmed siblings, have a great one years birthday! "okay, wheres my treats!"

Lucy's second win...

on Sunday, May 2, 2010

We have recieved the photo from the Monday show in Lewiston. Some of the other dogs dropped from the competition so this was not a major, but still the little girl showed well. Mandy believes she will grow to enjoy showing as much as Clem, which would mean loving second only to food

As you can see, Lucy took a down-grade in the handling department, as I was called to take her around for the best in breed competition. I didnt trip or mess her up to badly I guess, so I'll call it a success. I do need to remind myself now to look at the dog in the photo session not the camera, it is supposed to be her picture. Doh!

Lewiston dog show - Lucy

on Thursday, April 29, 2010

Lucy's first show photo arrived, as most have heard little Lucy has received her first points by winning a four point major. I am not sure that she enjoys showing as much as Clem, but she sure does try.

We are extremely proud of the little girl as she was in the middle of her first heat cycle during the show. Even slightly out of sorts, she was a trooper. When the next photo arrives, we will get that one up. (here's where I shudder)

Photos of Lucy and Daddy (Pilot)

on Friday, February 5, 2010

While at the Portland show we could not resist the chance to have a mini family photo session. Lucy is her father's daughter, she has many of his traits including that "horrible temperament" Meaning, if your face needs to be washed, they would be more than happy to kiss it clean.

Myself, I think I like the last one the best. Of course, if Lucy would have had her tongue hanging out on the second photo, it would have been priceless and so in character for both.

Cardigans at play...

on Saturday, January 30, 2010

Lucy being adorable, don't let the look fool you.

Caleb, doing what he loves best, stalking

Clem, queen of the hill on her throne, the pumphouse.

As you can see, Iris's all time favorite game is keep away.

Hannah and Lucy actually trying to catch Iris and her toy. It's so much fun watching the kids play.

Portland Dog Show...

on Monday, January 25, 2010

Lucy was remarkable this weekend at the Portland Rose Classic. The first two days she was awarded RWB over some great competition. That second day I watched as the judge came oh so close to giving her the prize. The next two days she was not what the judges were looking for, so got some much needed experience.

Saturday we brought Clem with us and it is good to know that she has not lost her magic touch. I swear she must have a "pet me I'm cute" sign that only others can see. She is a wonderful ambassador for the breed. Many I spoke to became very interested after she had her way with them.

I dont understand what happened to my picture taking skills(?), but I took over 200 pictures and most are so blurry that I can not make out who the dog is. After this, I think I will have Jo do the pictures, she seems to have a knack for it which I lack. It is pretty disappointing at any rate, I thought I might of had some nice photos.

Lucy did seem to have a lot of fun, so this adventure was absolutely worth it, because that was the main purpose overall. Everyone loves a happy puppy, maybe that is part of Clem's charm.

Lucy goes to town...

on Sunday, November 1, 2009

I was able to talk Mandy into having a house-guest for the weekend, Lucy was able to get some playing in with Hannah and was taken out in public for some needed socializing. Today, we came to town for some new pictures of the little "charmer". There are 12 pictures, so this post will actually be three...

Corgi girls just wanna... Just wanna have Snow!

on Thursday, October 29, 2009

Well, October 29th and we have gotten the first taste of snow. Not a promising sign for me given how much I have to drive each day to work, but as you can see, some see snow as a grand adventure and a new excuse to play! Lucy did not know what to think of snow the first time she saw it, but watching Clem and Iris play, she decided she wasnt going to let the wet, cold, white invader stop her from having fun. I have learned one thing about Lucy, she has a single-minded determination that would equal Calebs, and that is saying a lot. An example would be sneaking into what ever her relations are eating, they growl, they snap, she gives them a "whatever" look and digs in deeper.

I love that aspect of her adorable personality, if we can translate that determination into her show career, I feel she will be a force to be reckoned with. She's also smart, when a head on demand for attention doesnt produce the results she desires, she's picked up some of Clem subtle skills of moving in and looking adorable. One way or another, the little princess seems to get what she is after. Hopefully, we can manage to get some stacked pictures soon, at least now she has learned that the table usually means treats for not trying to jump off.

Lucy at the TriCities

on Sunday, September 27, 2009

Lucy today visited the show in the Tri-cities. It was a bit overwheming all the other dogs and people, but she took it in stride, and I would say she enjoyed the attention.

Here's Mandy holding Lucy while daddy was in the ring...

Thank you Megan for helping with the stacking for Lucy's photo-op session.

Pictures with Pilot, she's not daddy's girl, is she?

Oh, forgot to add, Lucy's name will be "Allegro turn on the charm".

Lucy at play...

on Friday, September 25, 2009

I figured I better get some more photos of Lucy-girl up, just so everyone can see how remarkable she is. Both Clem and Iris adore the little firecracker, she has her own very unique personality, which suits both Jo and myself just fine. We just have to remember that if it isnt nailed down and she can reach it, well, it's hers. She has the normal Corgi stubborn drive, very similar to Caleb in some respects. In fact one of her favorite games is herding Caleb who is very skittish around the little girl. He tries to bluff her with snarls and snaps that as far as I have seen are not close to touching her, but she just smiles and moves in for another jump on his head. Clem on the other hand is very protective of Lucy, if she even thinks that Caleb is serious or Iris is playing too rough then she moves in with the authority of a supreme court judge and game over. Iris is gentle with the Lucy-girl and I think she believes they are sisters, lordy to they love to play when Clem isnt playing the over protective mother. As you can probably tell, I have been calling her Lucy-girl, Jo on the other hand likes to call her Lucy-goosey, which to me has connotations of a rather loose woman. Anyway, hope to get some stacked pictures in Richland, good to have expects around for that. :)

Lucy at the forest retreat

on Thursday, September 17, 2009

We got some pictures of a very special little Lady, if you notice the second picture includes Clem, well. Clem is her self-proclaimed body-guard. I have re-taped her ears, hopefully I will have the luck I had with Clem's, but time will tell. Shes a wonderful girl, full of life and very eager to please. Huge thanks to Jeri and Mandy for all the work involved to bring Lucy to the forest. Later we will get phots of the others, Lucy and Iris playing when Clem isnt around to herb Iris away. The of course Lucy herding poor Caleb all over. She loves to chase him around. I really need to get the grass cut this weekend, otherwise it will start looking like a forest too. :)
